Leader

I just watched a telugu flick with name "Leader".One thing what the director sekhar Kammula wanted to say is "we need leaders not politicians in our country".I agree.I was amazed to think of a person whom I would be delighted to see today as a leader. He is Bhagat Singh.Little did I know about him before I saw thins raj kumar santoshi's "Legend of Bhagatsingh".Be it the national award winning Ajay Devgan's perfomance,or the impeccable Raj kumar santoshi's direction or inspring music from A.R.Rahman.I have throughly enjoyed the film.
Both these films prompted me to think about this great term called leaders.Leaders are the need of any group. We need somebody to lead.Leading is a special art.During my school days we used to have class leaders who were obviously toppers.(Teachers just love book worms and muggers). We boast a lot about our great leaders.Sorry guys I just don't find a good leader in politics after Independence.Yes I have found great politicians but leaders sorry to say a big NO.
The only leader whom I as a person would follow is Bhagat singh.22 is the age in which he was given the death punishment. At 22 I had only two or three things in my mind career, girls and friends. How could somebody be with such a passion towards the country in such a tender age and die.God! this is crazy. He is my leader."Azadi meri Dulhan hai"---arre yaar kya hai ye??
I used to think that his death was a great sacrifice. After reading Aynrand I just found that this cannot be termed as a sacrifice. As Ayn rand says "A person is willing to die for freedom than living as a slave under someone else is not sacrificing".Yes Bhagat Singh wanted to die for a purpose. It was much more than just a freedom. He wanted to be as an example that there are people who are willing to die rather than live under slavery. He wanted people to follow his act and work towards a better country like he did.
He wanted something more than mere independence. He wanted to make India a better place to live. Some may argue that violence was his way.Common yaar if some body comes and beats you its an animal instinct to fight.Fight in self-defence.
Now the question is have we betrayed him?(this is what raj kumar santoshi asks at the end of his film)My answer is a shameful YES.I have betrayed him.I see some irrational things around me and just shrug and say "yaha tho aisa hi hota hai yaar".Being in a public sector I see influence (we call it Jugaad here) taking over the merit and I just watch helplessly. Then I have suddenly realized ki people watch helplessly.(May be we are waiting for the Bhagat Singh to pull us out).
Worst people made this a way of life. They have adopted themselves to this irrational system.
and the guys who can do something are the first to rush to more rational places like US.Arre yaar .......US is developed because ppl there are rational.Aam bhasha me vaha par jugaad nahi yaa kam chaltha hai!!!(or ppl there have less jugaad)
So Mr Bhagat Singh please come here and help me out .I as an Indian living in this country without a proper direction need leaders like you
